Influencia del enriquecimiento ambiental en la capacidad de resolución de laberintos en ratones (Mus musculus)

El enriquecimiento ambiental es una alternativa para mejorar el bienestar y desempeño conductual de animales de laboratorio; sin embargo, persisten diferencias respecto a su influencia sobre el aprendizaje y la resolución de problemas en ratones mantenidos en condiciones convencionales con limitada estimulación. El objetivo fue evaluar la influencia del enriquecimiento ambiental en la capacidad de resolución de laberintos en ratones (Mus musculus), mediante el tiempo empleado y el número de errores. Se desarrolló una investigación cuantitativa, experimental y completamente al azar con 10 ratones machos de tres a cuatro meses, distribuidos en un grupo control y uno experimental de cinco individuos cada uno. Durante cuatro semanas se realizaron tres sesiones semanales y se aplicó la prueba de Kruskal-Wallis. El grupo enriquecido registró un tiempo medio de 69,1 segundos frente a 143 segundos del control, reduciéndose aproximadamente 51,7%; los errores disminuyeron de 8,95 a 5,22. Se identificaron diferencias significativas para tiempo (H=12,65; p<0,001) y errores (H=9,67; p=0,002). Se determinó que el enriquecimiento ambiental favoreció el aprendizaje espacial y mejoró el desempeño conductual.
