The production of fine Montecristi toquilla straw hats faces challenges related to commercial intermediation, inadequate artisan remuneration, the aging of weavers, and logistical limitations in accessing international markets. This study aimed to design a model for integrated logistics management and ethical export, based on an assessment of the socio-productive, technical, and commercial conditions in the communities of Pepa de Huso and La Sequita. A research study was conducted using a qualitative approach with quantitative support, a descriptive and analytical scope, and a non-experimental, cross-sectional design. Methods included semi-structured interviews, direct observation, document review, and surveys of 28 weavers, complemented by an export cost model. Results showed an average age of 57.3 years; 75% were over 50, and 67.9% had learned the craft between the ages of 10 and 15. Production costs were estimated at USD 36.55 per hat, with a delivered cost in Miami of USD 77.02 and a proposed price of USD 110.03. The study concluded that community coordination, traceability, quality control, and fair trade are fundamental elements for strengthening internationalization and preserving this artisanal heritage.
