Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, RTF, or WordPerfect document file format.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines, which are found in About the Journal.

Author Guidelines

Pulso Científico Multidisciplinary Journal follows a rigorous process to ensure the quality and integrity of its publications. Below are the steps you must follow to publish on our online journal management platform (OJS):

Step 1: Initial Setup

Registration and journal setup: The author must register on the OJS platform and complete the fields required by the journal to proceed with the manuscript submission.

Uploading and submitting documents: The author must upload all required documents specified in the preliminary setup for the manuscript to be accepted.

Step 2: Reception and Evaluation

Manuscript reception: Authors submit their manuscripts through the OJS platform.

Initial evaluation: The manuscript is evaluated by the editor-in-chief or associate editors to determine its relevance and suitability for the journal.

Assignment of reviewers: The editor-in-chief assigns expert reviewers to evaluate the manuscript.

Step 3: Peer Review and Editing

Peer review: Reviewers evaluate the manuscript and provide detailed feedback and recommendations.

Revision and editing: The author incorporates the corrections and improvements suggested by the reviewers.

Step 4: Final Editing and Proofreading

Editing: The editor-in-chief or associate editors edit the manuscript for publication.

Proofreading: The author and the editor-in-chief review the final proofs to ensure accuracy.

Step 5: Publication

Online publication: The article is published on the OJS platform by the editor-in-chief.

DOI assignment: A Digital Object Identifier (DOI) is assigned to the published article.

Indexing and dissemination: The article is indexed in databases and promoted through social media and other communication channels.

Step 6: Monitoring and Evaluation

Metrics tracking: The editor-in-chief tracks access and citation metrics for the published article.

Quality evaluation: The editor-in-chief reviews and optimizes the publishing process to guarantee the journal's quality.

Application of APA 7th Edition Standards

  1. General Format

Font: Times New Roman, 12-point size

Spacing: Double-spaced

Margins: 2.54 cm (1 inch) on all sides (top, bottom, left, and right)

Alignment: Justified

  1. Header and Footer

Header: Article title (in uppercase) in the upper right corner, up to a maximum of 50 characters

Footer: Page number in the lower right corner

  1. Article Title

Title: Concise and informative, in title case (centered)

Length: Maximum 12 words

Below the title: Author's name, institution, and publication date (if applicable)

  1. Abstract

Heading "Abstract" centered

Text: 150-250 words, without indentation

Must include: Objective, methodology, results, and conclusion

  1. Introduction

Does not require a heading; begins directly with the text

Must include: Context, research problem, objective, and hypothesis (if applicable)

  1. Method

Heading "Method" centered

Describes the population, sample, instruments, and procedures used

  1. Results

Heading "Results" centered

Presents research findings clearly and concisely

Uses tables and figures to present complex data

  1. Discussion

Heading "Discussion" centered

Interprets the results and relates them to existing literature

Discusses the implications and limitations of the study

Heading "References" centered

Lists all sources cited in the article, arranged alphabetically by author

Uses APA 7th edition style for citing and referencing sources

Use APA 7th edition style to cite sources:

In-text citations: (Author's Last Name, Year, p. Page)

Long direct block quotes: Indented 1.27 cm (0.5 in), without quotation marks

References: According to the source type (book, article, etc.)

Use tables and figures to present complex data

Clear and concise title and legend

Use APA 7th edition style to present tables and figures

Use appendices to present supplementary material
